Patrick Dempsey has confirmed his role in the 'Bridget Jones' movie.

Rumours have circulated for weeks that the 'Grey's Anatomy' star would be joining Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth for the highly-anticipated sequel to 2004's 'Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason'.

Captioning a photograph of himself posing with an umbrella, he wrote: ''Nice to be working in England. Renee and Colin are an absolute joy to work with!

''A good couple of days rehearsing at Pinewood Studios. I really like it here! (sic)''

Meanwhile, earlier this year, film crews were spotted at Ed Sheeran's concert in Croke Park, Dublin capturing scenes where Bridget was supposedly sitting on top of a man's shoulders.

However, sources at the time claimed it was just a body double for Renée.

They said: ''There was no risk in filming Renée at a busy gig. But they knew the cat would be out the bag the minute people saw her at the show.

''Renée body double and the cameramen were in and out of the crowd as quickly as possible. These are the first moments in early filming for the new movie. None of the show's main talent have been involved yet.''

Production for 'Bridget Jones' Baby' is expected to begin early next month.
