Ed Sheeran surprised one lucky couple by performing at their wedding. The 24-year-old British singer heard Sydney radio station KIIS 1065 was preparing a special wedding for the happy couple and Sheeran offered, as the bride and groom had chosen one his songs for their first dance, to perform at the reception.

The bride and groom, Kya and Matt Debono, had been struggling with meeting the financial costs of a wedding, as ryanseacrest.com reports. Matt reached out to the local radio station who offered to give him $60,000 to help organise the wedding of Kya's dreams. The couple had chosen Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud' as their wedding song. Sheeran, who was being interviewed by the radio station, heard of Matt and the station's efforts and offered to appear at their wedding. 

The moment Sheeran entered the wedding reception was filmed and the couple looked overjoyed at his presence. The bride appeared to be torn between laughing upon seeing Sheeran, who needed no introduction. Before wishing the bride and groom happiness in their marriage, Sheeran gave a heartfelt rendition of the track from his album x.

Sheeran shared a photograph of the occasion with his fans, uploading an Instagram picture in which he poses with the happy couple and their two children. "Just surprised this lovely couples [sic] first dance. Available for weddings, birthdays and bar mitzvah's, contact your local super market for details," Sheeran joked in the caption. 

Whilst there may be love in the air for Kya and Matt, Sheeran has suffered some heartbreak recently. Sheeran confirmed his split from his girlfriend of a year, Athina Andrelos, whilst being interviewed by KIIS. Sources, speaking to the Daily Mail, suggest their split was the result of Sheeran's drunken behaviour at the Brit Awards after party in London last month. Sheeran was reportedly unable to deal with the advances of a particularly ardent fan at the party.

'The final straw [for their relationship] was at the after-party. It was a combination of Ed drinking too much and him being unable to deal with a girl that kept bothering them that night," the source said of Sheeran's break-up.
