Paris Hilton is to play herself in Sofia Coppola's new film 'The Bling Ring', which is based on the true story of a group of teenagers who robbed Hollywood stars' homes.

'The Bling Ring' is based on a true story which saw stars including Paris, Orlando Bloom, Megan Fox and Lindsay Lohan become the victims of a group of youths who robbed celebrity's homes in the Hollywood Hills.
Director Sofia Coppola wanted to find one of the original victims to feature in it and decided he 31-year-old hotel heiress would be perfect for the cameo role.
A source close to production revealed that Paris has appeared at the Sayers Club wearing a Swarovski crystal dress and Christian Louboutin heels to film a scene with Emma and Bush rocker Gavin Rossdale, who plays a shady club promoter.
Paris has previously had a starring role in romantic comedy, 'The Hottie and the Nottie', a performance which earned her a worst actress prize at the 2009 Razzies.
Production on 'The Bling Ring' has only just begun and it is set for release next year.
