The 35-year-old first found success with Liberty X back in 2001.
Kevin Simm has been crowned this year’s winner of BBC talent show ‘The Voice’, beating rival Jolan to take the crown. The 35-year-old is a talent show veteran, having previously appeared on 2001 BBC show ‘Popstars’, where he formed group Liberty X with Michelle Heaton, Tony Lundon, Jessica Taylor and Kelli Young.
Kevin Simm has won ‘The Voice’ 2016.
After his victory was announced, the father of two said: "I can't believe it. I'm so grateful to everyone who has voted for me. I couldn't have dreamed this would happen, especially at my ripe old age.” In the early 2000s Simm had enjoyed 10 consecutive top 20 singles with Liberty X. But after the group split in 2007 he had been reduced to £100 a night gigs to provide for his family.

Stevie McCrorie’s music career hasn't taken off since winning the BBC talent show last year.
Steve McCrorie, the most recent winner of BBC talent show ‘The Voice’, is leaving the music industry less than a year after his victory to return to work as a fireman. The news comes as ‘The Voice’ prepares to crown a new winner, while suffering from falling ratings and two contestants quitting the show before the live finals.
Steve McCrorie was mentored on ‘The Voice’ by Kaiser Chief’s Ricky Wilson.
According to The Sun, McCrorie has has called time on his music career to go back to being a fireman in Fife, so he can provide for his wife Amy, 29, and daughter Bibi, three. McCrorie is also now off the books of music PR firm APB.
Robbie is reportedly being eyed as a judge when the talent show moves to ITV next year.
Robbie Williams is reportedly being considered to take a judge’s seat on ‘The Voice’ as part of a massive revamp of the talent show, once it moves from BBC to ITV. According to The Daily Star, ITV thinks Robbie ‘ticks all the boxes’ and would be a perfect fit for the judging panel.
Could Robbie Williams soon be seen on ‘The Voice’?
An insider told the newspaper: “X Factor have been courting Robbie for years but The Voice team think they have a better chance because their filming schedule is shorter, and it allows him to concentrate on other projects.”

Beth Morris, a contestant on BBC singing contest ‘The Voice’ has left the show after admitting to using cocaine during rehearsals. The 26-year-old was being mentored by judge Paloma Faith in the contest and released a statement saying she was “truly sorry” for letting her fans down.

They might be on rival talent shows, but Boy George only has love for Simon Cowell.
‘The Voice’s’ Boy George has admitted he’s “in love” with ‘X Factor’ judge Simon Cowell and would even date the music mogul. George also revealed that a spot on the ‘X Factor’ judging panel was once talked about, but he’s glad he ended up with a chair on ‘The Voice’ instead.
Boy George has strong feelings towards Simon Cowell.
Speaking to The Sun, George said: “I’ve always felt Simon might be part of my future. I have this weird feeling that somehow we’ll either have dinner together or maybe we’ll become lovers. I love watching him on his shows.”

The BBC has hit back at claims that 'The Voice' is rigged, after Paloma reportedly agreed with fellow judge Ricky Wilson beforehand to save Kevin Simm from elimination.
The BBC has issued a swift denial that its reality singing competition ‘The Voice’ is a fix, after Paloma Faith was widely reported as having said that the elimination process had been pre-determined.
The 34 year old English singer, a judge on the show, was said to have told The Mirror on Sunday evening (March 6th) that this weekend’s shock decision to get rid of former Liberty X singer Kevin Simms, after the battle round against 17 year old Faith Nelson, was pre-arranged because she knew that her fellow judge Ricky Wilson would “steal” him for his team if she opted to get rid of him.

Viewers couldn’t believe Rick Snowdon’s amazing transformation.
Viewers of ‘The Voice’ were left astounded last night (February 13th) when one contestant shared his incredible weight loss story. Rick Snowdon, 29, appeared on the BBC singing competition after shedding over 13 stone, by beating his sugar addiction and focusing on music.

Paloma apparently incurred the wrath of George's acid tongue when she pretended to fall asleep while he was talking.
‘The Voice’s new judges certainly seem to be doing the trick when it comes to getting publicity for the singing contest, with Paloma Faith reportedly storming off the set after a row with Boy George after he called her “b****y” and “extremely rude”.
Viewers are set to see footage of the feisty clash this weekend, as former Liberty X star Kevin Simm unwittingly causes a maelstrom between the two newcomers to the judging panel. The contestant is apparently aiming for a second shot at stardom, nearly 15 years after the group was put together on ITV’s ‘Popstars’, and gave a rendition of Sia’s hit ‘Chandelier’ for the judges.

ITV will take over the singing umpteen from the BBC in 2017.
ITV has confirmed they have signed a deal to air talent show ‘The Voice’ for three years, after the BBC refused to enter a bidding war. The deal is thought to be worth about £50m and the show will begin airing on ITV in January 2017.

The start up festival couldn't attract the punters
As festival season gets into full swing, with Glastonbury kicking off this weekend, The Isle of Man festival has been axed due to poor ticket sales. This probably had something to do with the fact Wretch 32 and Paloma Faith were the headliners.
Festival organiser Chris Heyes of Rockingmann Festivals says: "Even with our fantastic sponsors on board, we just haven't been able to sell enough tickets to make the event viable this year," before adding: "With a festival market that sees festivals sharing similar line ups running almost every weekend throughout the Summer... I guess it's easier to just go somewhere that you can easily drive to without a ferry or a flight." It was always going to be difficult for the festival, with the market truly saturated. Glastonbury – easily the most popular of the British festivals – commands a lion share of the ticket sales, and with it occurring just the weekend before, people were always going to choose the South West location, despite the higher prices. "Unfortunately it seems that the public on the Island weren't quite ready to invest in a festival and for those travelling from the mainland and Ireland the travel arrangements required for a weekend visit to the Isle Of Man for some reason were proving too much of an undertaking."
The organizers aren’t giving up though, and want to invest more time and money into the forthcoming years. "We will not be defeated. I still believe that The Isle Of Man is a fantastic location for a music festival. Nobles Park is a magical venue with a clear view of the sea behind the main stage."

It's traditionally a quiet month for live music, but try telling that to Paloma Faith who has just started a lengthy tour of the UK and Ireland. Faith was in the Irish capital of Dublin last night (January 21, 2013) after kicking off procedings at the Ulster Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the previous evening.

Is The Justice Collective's 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother' The Underdog In The Fight For Christmas Number One?
The Justice Collective have finally released their tribute single 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother' in remembrance of the tragic disaster at the Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield.
Could James Arthur bag the 2012 Christmas Number One after all? Despite the bookies selecting The Justice Collective’s Hillsborough charity single as the likely candidate, it now looks as though James Arthur is now the favourite for the number one slot this year. His single ‘Impossible’ looks to be heading to the top of the chart, despite the huge support for The Justice Collective’s cover of The Hollies’ ‘He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother,’ which is raising money to help the families of those killed in the Hillsborough disaster with their legal fees.
James’ single is also raising money for charity. Proceeds from his single will go to Together For Short Lives, which debuted last week with sales of 490,000. The Managing Director of the Official Charts Company told STV “While James Arthur has an early lead over The Justice Collective after just two days of sales, it is exceptionally tight – especially with Christmas gift purchases likely to impact on both releases as the week progresses. It looks like being an extremely exciting race for this year’s Official Christmas Number One." So it’s not quite in the bag for The X Factor winner then, but he’s in the lead at the moment. Can he keep hold of his lead until the weekend? Or will the Justice Collective take over.
Curves won out the day at the stad-studded VH1 Divas event that took place at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles last night (December 16), with the likes of Kelly Osbourne and Jenna Dewan-Tatum - wife of actor Channing Tatum - turning the heads of the paparazzi as they headed down the red carpet. Yes, while Miley Cyrus was winning attention on the stage, with The Sun reporting that she covered Billy Idol's 'Rebel Yell', off stage her conservative look was largely overlooked.
T In The Park have announced their 2013 headliners and they’ve got some of the biggest players in the world of rock and pop at the top of their bill next year. Both Rihanna and Mumford & Sons – responsible for two of the most significant album releases of 2012 – will be headlining separate days of the festival, which celebrates its 20th birthday. And what a way to celebrate!
Also announced are this year’s Mercury Music Prize winners, Alt-J, everybody’s favourite flame-haired nutcase, Paloma Faith and highly-lauded newcomer Jake Bugg. T in the Park has long been the most significant event in the Scottish festival calendar and its organisers have erred towards the mainstream in more recent years; a move which has clearly paid off and seen crowds flock to the festival in their thousands. On Friday (December 7, 2012), a limited number of tickets will be available at 2012 prices – a move that echoes an announcement from the organisers of Reading and Leeds festivals who are doing the same, in an attempt to secure early business from cash-strapped music fans.
The festival’s director, Geoff Ellis, said “it seems like only yesterday that the first band took to the stage at Strathclyde Park for our inaugural T in the Park in 1994, now here we are in 2012 announcing two of the world's biggest and best acts to headline our 20th edition.” T in the Park 2013 will take place in Balado, Scotland, on July 12 – 14.
So, Rihanna finally bumped Taylor Swift from the top of the US album charts, with the aptly-titled Unapologetic. Could it be that Ke$ha does the same to her Barbadian pop rival, with the release of Warrior, her second studio album?
The 25 year-old Californian has never been afraid of raising a few eyebrows and Warrior sees no change in her artistic determination. Drownedinsound.com reviewed the album describing it as “never dull, always fun and frequently a thrillingly unpredictable ride,” with All Music Guide backing up that theory, calling it a “wall-to-wall party for the freaks, burnouts, outcasts and misfits and if you don’t get it that’s your fault and not hers.” Strong words indeed and certainly a more passionate critical response than Rihanna received for Unapologetic.
Rhi-Rhi’s certainly got more celebrity pull than Ke$ha, but if the public latch on to the enthusiastic response to Warrior, could we see another upset at the top of the charts next week? Her last album, 2010’s Animal, was a US number one so we see no reason why the exuberant club queen shouldn’t be up there again this time next week.
The Hillsborough single, released to raise money for the families of Liverpool fans who lost their life during the tragic Hillsborough disaster in 1989, where 96 football fans lost their lives during a FA Cup semi-final match at the Sheffield stadium, has had it's full line-up released, featuring a fair share of star power.
The single, a cover of the 1969 Hollies track 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother,' will be released on December 17th and is already hotly tipped to take this year's Christmas Number One spot. The full line-up is to feature Liverpudlian Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, Mick Jones, X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson, Spice Girl Mel C, Gerry Marsden, Paloma Faith, Squeeze's Glenn Tilbrook, Beady Eye's Chris Sharrock, Hollie Cook, Jon McClure, Eliza Doolittle, Beverley Knight, Liverpool FC legend Kenny Dalglish, Liverpool MP Steve Rotheram, Liverpool-born comic John Bishop and members of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Lawson, the Farm, the Zutons, the Beautiful South and Cast.
Families of the victims have already been given a listen to the charity single, which will raise funds for the ongoing legal costs as the victim's families seek retribution from the Government and police, who had covered up the truth about the disaster until earlier this year. Margaret Aspinall, chair of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, commended McCartney for lending his name to the project and spoke of how her son, one of the 96, was listening to the song shortly before he passed on. She said, "I thought, maybe he's handing me this new version and saying 'listen to this'."
A single is to be released to be released to help families of the victims of the Hillsborough disaster as they seek to recoup legal costs paid out over 23 years of fighting the authorities.
There was jubilation around Merseyside recently after it was finally determined via inquiry that Liverpool fans were not at fault for the deaths of 96 of their fans at a soccer match between their club and Nottingham Forest at Hillsborough, Sheffield on April 15, 2012. The battle has been long and hard, after the South Yorkshire Police had originally blamed the fans for the tragedy, and now the hope is that those who covered up the affair will be brought to justice.
The single though, a cover of The Hollies He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother, will be recorded by Robbie Williams, Mel C, Rebecca Ferguson and Paloma Faith, with other artists involved including Mick Jones from The Clash, Chris Sharrock from Oasis and the Lightning Seeds, and Gerry Marsden. It will be doing battle for the Christmas number one singles spot in the UK, probably against whoever wins the latest X Factor series. The money raised from it is of far importance than where it might finish, with the families of the 96 having spent tens of thousands in their quest for justice.
Albums of Note... That 'difficult second album' phase is probably even more difficult when - in between your first and second album - you have performed at the Royal wedding, had your songs splashed all over the TV, dumped one of the UK's best-known radio DJs (Greg James) and started dating one of the United States' best-known producers (Skrillex). Ellie Goulding seems to have done a solid job of navigating the pressures of retaining her identity, whilst no doubt being squeezed by her record label. Overall though, Halcyonis not quite the blast of personality that we expected from Goulding: "The most disappointing thing is that they've not even really allowed Goulding's voice to flourish. She has a vocal that's pleasant if not exactly stand out, but all life in it's been stamped out through auto-tuning and correction, the singer sounding as though she's being possessed by the spirit of nothing at all."
Tall Ships are beginning to gather serious momentum on the live circuit in the UK and their debut album, Everything Touching cements that reputation. It's by no means a perfect debut but Tall Ships are already breaking free of the 'math rock' parameters that have been loosely placed about them. "The majority of the ten tracks are instrumentally intense with sounds overlapping and complimenting each other. An intriguing debut from Tall Ships, but there's just a spark missing. They should cut down on the instrumentals and replace with some words because, when they're used, the science and instrumental beauty are amplified perfectly."
Having deservedly battled her way into the limelight after serving her time as a backing singer, Paloma Faith seemed to revel in the attention that she gained upon the release of 'Stone Cold Sober' and her subsequent debut album ('Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful?') She delighted an attentive audience with her kooky dress sense and proved herself to be quite the all-rounded young individual on TV chat shows and quiz shows. Her career may have appeared to have been stuttering, in comparison to the likes of Amy Winehouse and Adele, against whom she is frequently and carelessly pitted. In Paloma Faith, though you had a singer who was naturally left-of-centre, artistic and inventive, insightful and sophisticated.

Paloma Faith may still only be at the ripe young age of twenty-six but already she's achieved more than many peers twice her age. An accomplished singer, songwriter and musician, her unconventional take on jazz infused pop via a dash of rhythm and blues (the true definition not the post-Beyonce one) has swept a breath of fresh air through the UK music scene since debut long player 'Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful?' dropped in 2009. Spawning the hit singles 'Stone Cold Sober' and 'New York', the album attained platinum status within a year of its release, no mean feat in these hard times of the present.

Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beatuiful? is the debut album from English soulstress Paloma Faith. With obvious comparisons to Amy Winehouse and even Duffy by some, Faith was always going to need to set herself apart from her contemporaries for the critics. She more than does that on this record.
