The Big Apple is the Big Playground
In Tycoon City: New York, players aim to become moguls by constructing and customising hundreds of businesses in a bustling and realistic simulation of New York City. Players must create and improve their businesses to outclass the competition and become rich and famous in New York City.
"Tycoon City: New York is the easiest and most fun way to experience the hustle and bustle of NYC without actually being there," said Cyril Voiron, European Marketing Manager, Atari Europe. "NYC has been beautifully and skilfully recreated and through its user friendly gameplay allows all users the chance to run their very own New York nightclub, build their very own skyscraper or take on a Broadway production in what is the most authentic NYC experience out there."
Recreated in highly detailed 3D imagery and featuring famous landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and Times Square, Tycoon City: New York offers players a realistic simulation of the city that never sleeps. Over two dozen in-game partners, including TIME Magazine, Marquee, Nokia and Tag Heuer, to name a few, lend the game added realism. As a result of the partnership with TIME Magazine, players that reach the top of their game will see their likeness promoted on virtual TIME Magazine covers.
In Tycoon City: New York, players start from humble beginnings as a budding entrepreneur and build a Manhattan empire by creating, upgrading, and customising more than 100 types of major businesses based on the needs of real New Yorkers in the game. Some challenges include overseeing a media conglomerate, owning a hot new restaurant and managing a Wall Street financial firm. High-profile industries, real-world brands and a bustling round-the-clock lifestyle give every player the chance to make it. All of these challenges take place in authentic New York neighbourhoods like the East Village, Chelsea and Greenwich Village.
Tycoon City: New York reveals New York's inhabitants as they go about their daily lives in thrall to the 'city that never sleeps'.
With its iconic Brownstone terraced houses from the Upper West Side of Manhattan, instantly recognisable from such television shows as Sex & The City and The Cosby Show, this could only be New York. Bustling streets of New Yorkers stopping to meet friends at their favourite café or deli; crowding into neighbourhood basketball courts in a state of readiness for the next one-on-one contest to see 'who's got game'; picking up groceries in local shops trading late in to the evening; jostling to see up-and-coming bands playing outdoor gigs in local parks â this is the living, breathing, day-to-day side of neighbourhood New York as seen through the eyes of its inhabitants in Tycoon City: New York.
With a population of over 8 million inhabitants New York is the most densely populated city in North America. Developer Deep Red Games has recreated this bustling metropolis on an unprecedented scale.
Featuring 60,000 living, breathing inhabitants, each with their own identities, wants and desires, Tycoon City: New York is a virtual recreation of a real-life city on a massive scale.
