Twilight Trax - New Trax Mix Grooves Deeply, Sweetly - Release Date: February22,2005
New Trax Mix Grooves Deeply, Sweetly

"Twilight Trax" is exactly that: a mix of mellow, grooving House tracks suitable for sippin' or spinnin' and everything in betweenand afterwards. Classics (Mr. Fingers' "Can You Feel It," Virgo 4's "In A Vision," Ron Hardy's "Liquid Love") and previously unreleased nuggets (Screamin' Rachael's "Just Want to Make Love," Master C&J's "It Will Make You Happy") ride along side brand new productions making their debut on this CD (Merl Sanders' "Elevator House Music," K-Alexi's "Us," Joe Smooth's "Jackson Park").

Whether you are an old school House head or cool cocktailer, "Twilight Trax" should find a comfy, permanent home in your favorite CD/MP3 player. A perfect little mix for a rooftop party, backyard barbeque, day at the beach, quiet night in or that long commute.

"Twilight Trax" was arranged and mixed by Steve Yanko, the Toronto-based producer and DJ who's also been responsible for

remastering much of the Trax catalog for rerelease. As producer, he is half the duo The Voices (with singer/guitarist Chris Field), whose "Sure Thing" can be heard on the very cool comp, "The Sound of Young New York II" (Plant Records).

Trainspotters Tidbits:

Deeper Society's "Gotta Get Up" was originally released on the garage ( Jersey house) label Movin' Records and produced by Boyd Jarvis. It is now part of the Trax catalog. An alternate version of this is on "Trax Records: The Next Generation."

< class="black2pt">David Chong's "There is no Place" features vocals by French rapper Dee Nasty (a.k.a. "The Hip Hop chemist) whose latest album "Underground Forever" Chong engineered.

Black Mamba's "Lost in Ituri" is a favorite of DJ Paul Van Dyk. Black Mamba is a.k.a. Naked Soul a.k.a Chicago House DJ Pap. (If you like the organic feel of this, check out "Life in the Jungle" on "Trax Records: The Next Generation."

Master C&J fans are right if theyve clocked "It Will Make You Happy" as an unreleased track. From back in the "Face It" era.

The Larry Sherman listed on track 14 is indeed THE Larry Sherman, owner and founder of Trax Records.

About Steve Yanko

Twilight Trax was arranged and mixed by Steve Yanko [pictured], the Toronto-based producer and DJ who's also been responsible for remastering much of the Trax catalog for re-issuing label, Casablanca Trax. "It was surreal doing that, says Steve. "I was a little kid worshipping these records at one point, and here I am years later responsible for cleaning them up. It was trippy."

Deeply entrenched in the Toronto club scene, he has promoted and played parties numbering into the hundreds and in the process garnered a reputation as a sure shot party rocker deftly fusing house, techno, electro and disco in a single set. Leisure, his party with partner and fellow Toronto House hero Mike Sitchon, just celebrated its third anniversary.

As producer, he is half the duo The Voices (with singer/guitarist Chris Field), whose "Sure Thing" can be heard on the very cool comp, "The Sound of Young New York II" (Plant Records) along with singles by The Stills and The Faint. Look for the follow-up Voices single, "Street Commander" (remixed by Stretch Armstrong) to be released this spring.
