Naomi Watts reprises the role of investigative reporter Rachel Keller in DreamWorks Pictures’ "The Ring Two", the sequel to the 2002 horror hit "The Ring". Hideo Nakata, who made "Ringu", the original Japanese blockbuster on which "The Ring" was based, has directed "The Ring Two", which will open in cinemas across the United Kingdom on April 1st.
The story picks up six months after the horrifying events that terrorised Rachel Keller and her son Aidan (David Dorfman) in Seattle. To escape her haunting memories, Rachel takes Aidan and moves to the small coastal community of Astoria, Oregon, to start afresh. However, Rachel’s resolve turns to dread when evidence at a local crime scene – including an unmarked videotape – seems eerily familiar. Rachel realises that the vengeful Samara is back and more determined than ever to continue her relentless cycle of terror and death.
Joining Oscar-nominee Naomi Watts and David Dorfman in the cast are SIMON BAKER, ELIZABETH PERKINS and Oscar-winner SISSY SPACEK. “THE RING TWO” is produced by WALTER F. PARKES and LAURIE MacDONALD, producers of “The Ring”. Also returning are the earlier film’s screenwriter EHREN KRUGER, the six-times Oscar-winning special makeup effects designer RICK BAKER and composer HANS ZIMMER. Executive producers are MIKE MACARI, ROY LEE, NEIL MACHLIS and MICHELE WEISLER, with NEAL EDELSTEIN, CHRIS BENDER and J.C. SPINK as co-executive producers.
A DreamWorks Pictures presentation of a Parkes/MacDonald Production, “THE RING TWO” is released in the UK and Ireland by United International Pictures.
