The Chemical Brothers, fresh from the success of Number 1 album 'We Are The Night', release 'The Salmon Dance' featuring Fatlip as the second single on 10th September 2007.
The Salmon Dance' is the perfect messed-up nursery rhyme, with Fatlip of Pharcyde fame talking through the lifecycle of a salmon, all over an inebriated beat that is one of the most different and quirky tracks Tom and Ed have ever produced.
Video directors and long-term collaborators Dom And Nic, who directed the MTV Award-winning video to 'Believe', are currently working on a much-anticipated new animated video for The Salmon Dance. Look out for more news on this soon.
It comes backed with an amazing remix package, with the Glimmer Twins, Herve and Crookers all giving it their magic touch. Also featuring will be 'Saturate' in its ultra-rare original form, 'Electronic Battle Weapon 8'. So far this has proved a huge live favourite and underground club hit having been distributed to DJs earlier this year.
In reaching this milestone, Tom and Ed join an elite group of British artists who have achieved this feat including Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and Oasis. It also represents a record for a dance act.
Following headline sets at Glastonbury, the Roundhouse and across Europe, The Chemical Brothers continue their most successful tour to date by adding an extra date at Brixton Academy this December due to phenomenal demand. See dates below for details. Between now and then they'll be headlining the likes of Bestival, Creamfields and Fuji Rock, as well as playing a huge show in Trafalgar Square as part of a Becks Fusions/ICA event on 9th September.
