Review of Prism #1 Single by Stateless

Prism #1
Single Review
Having already impressed the likes of Roots Manuva & DJ Shadow (lead singer Chris James featured on Shadow's 'The Outsider') Stateless look to continue in a similar fashion with this impressive piece of melancholic trip-hop.
Released on the iK7 label (which is responsible for the acclaimed 'DJ Kicks' series) & taken from the self-titled debut record, Prism #1 is the follow up to the Leeds based outfit's first single 'Exit'.
With scatty electronic beats, alternating piano arrangements, subtle strings and heart-felt Jeff Buckley influenced vocals from Chris James; Prism #1 is a reflective atmospheric number with massive pop appeal. The b-side 'Lose Myself' not only carries a similar vibe (only perhaps taking a more eerie route) but surprisingly, some people might consider it to be just as strong as the single.
Prism #1 is a solid follow up release which is sure to draw plaudits & only rams home the fact that Stateless have a great deal of potential. Make sure you check out the album.
