Sea Wolf Get To The River Before It Runs Too Low Album

Sea Wolf is a band name for a band that is occasionally put together around singer-songwriter name name. And what a discovery this first EP is - a set of hypnotic songs, elegantly crafted, like a cross between Pavement and Folk Implosion.

You won't need more than the opener, You're A Wolf, to fall for the music, but the rest proceeds through aching, gentle songs (The Garden You Planted), to Jarvis Cocker-like story rock (I Made A Resolution). The styles mix perfectly - Sea Wolf reminds of a better King Creosote, with lightly skipping melodies and a deeper, affecting voice. There's no doubt that Sea Wolf provides great competition in the Bright Eyes space, and that the US has more than enough talent to bat our James Blunts and Morrisons back across the Atlantic.
