Howling The Hives type intros melting into psychedelic, raw and cutting instrumentals that threaten to lift the garage rock genre to slightly more sophisticated levels is the SchwaB way. However, they still retain the no shit pertinence thatepitomized the garage rock blueprint of a few years back and sees this East London, PJ Austin fronted outfit continue to mediate the conflict between electro and rock. ‘No Balls’, with its simple and succinct lyrics allow you to get

caught up in the hypnotically electrifying instrumentals that stun you into submission, in a way the Scissor Sisters seem to have been doing of late. The topic of castration has never sounded so catchy and alluring.

B side ‘Burning Skull’ is darker and adheres more to the garage rock conventions with its howling vocals, simple verses and blasting musical accompaniment. After tours with Scott 4 and Zodiac Mindwarp; SchwaB have been raising their profile with impunity so that this third single from their forthcoming album due out soon, will wet appetites for a full on eclectic assault against pigeon holing.
