11. Lo & Behold Lo Quality (12" - Lo Recordings)
One word that most definitely cant be used to describe this compilation is dull. Monotonous wouldnt be a good choice either.
Lo Quality, a collection of Lo releases, past, present and future, covers all corners of the leftfield musical globe. The stupidity may be too much for some as with the quirky Heinz Funk Electronic Combos Bacarolle, or Nino Nardinis Catch That Man. But not to worry, with an album this varied its unlikely your going to like everything, and with this much variation youve got plenty more to choose from.
Japanese technical wizard Susumu Yokoto links up exclusively with Rothko on Waters Edge, whilst Mileeces Lullaby is another fine example of minimalist electronica mixed with classical. Dee and Laura create a post punk kind of lo-fi sing-a-long with Face (produced by Warn Defever of His Name Is Alive), and Cursor Minor with gets dancy and a little bit spazzy with the electro-psychedelic rant of Remote Control.
The job of Pigeonholing has never been so difficult thank God.
