6. Slick sixty Piece Three/Billies Blues (12" - Super Slick Stereo Sevens)
After a stint with Cup of Tea and then bigwigs Mute, the Slick Sixty threesome bravely decide to go it alone and set up their own label, Piece Three/Billies Blues being the first of their own releases. An instrumental with all the trademark Moogs and mid range beats, Piece Three also gets a very tasteful trumpet injection and some odd Clanger noises.
Equally as interesting is Billies Blues. Their precise production and attention to detail are no doubt the reason why these lads are getting chased all over by TV and advertising companies, that and the fact they write cheeky, original and very catchy tunes.
