Riton - "Hungry Ghost" Single Review

News & Reviews
10. Riton Hungry Ghost (12" - Grand Central)
Apparently Frank Carsons well into them but dont let that put you off. Riton (aka Henry Smithson) obviously hasnt, as he storms ahead with a tasteful and laid back Roy Ayres style excursion. And he adds the splendid vocals of Friends and Family resident MC, Chris Jam - a vocal that hovers somewhere in between the moody Finlay Quaye and the magnificent Horace Andy. There are a few Riton rehashes too, where the man gives the original an injection of his trademark electronica and Mark Rae adopts some unfamiliar Badmarsh and Shri-esque Indian/dub.
