7. Batidos Tengo Sed (12" - Six Degrees) |
Jay Rodriguez (jazz saxophonist and founder member of Groove Collective) and Ron Trent (resident DJ at NYCs Giant Step) join forces to come up with Tengo Sed, the first single to be released from their forthcoming debut album Olajope. Its an uplifting Alfredo Rodriguez style samba with the joyous piano playing of Chucho Valdes. Pure sunshine material. Ron Trent then gives it the remix treatment, turning the samba into a Caf Del Mar style, chill out track - a gentle slice of Latin house. Two further mixes, Amarillo Curioso and Ron Trent Drum Mix, stick closer to the original and keep the Caribbean feel at the fore. |
