Its a name
to remember.
The hugely talented singer-songwriter Moony aka Monica
Bragato had a huge #3 hit with Point Of View
as part of DB Boulevard and now looks set to repeat the feat
on her own with the release of Acrobats (Looking For
Balance) on February 17th.
Self-written (like the majority of her
forthcoming debut album Lifestories), Acrobats
is a dazzling pop song, catchy enough to be an instant hit,
yet with enough substance to keep you coming back for more.
Moony first established herself on the
Venetia club scene, attracting the attention of DJ/producer
Cristiano Spiller who asked her to add her mesmerising vocals
to the Spiller singles Positive and Batucade.
This also led to Moony guesting on the Angel Moon (an alias
of Spiller) track All I Want, which went on
to be a great success on the American club scene.
The release of Point Of View
went onto become one of the biggest hits of the year across
Europe, earning DB Boulevard the distinction of being the
first Italian artist to be nominated at the MTV Europe Music
Awards along the way. The success of the track crossed the
Atlantic, topping the Billboard Club Charts for four consecutive
weeks. The self-written Dove provided Moony
with another big hit and alerted the whole of Europe to
a major new songwriting talent.
Moonys debut album Lifestories
(out March 3rd 2003) exhibits Moonys many musical
influences, a seamless amalgam of dance friendly beats,
80s electro-pop and sublime hints towards the great singer
songwriters like Carol King in the piano balladry of the
awesome Dear Friend.
