Ministry of Sound - The Annual 2006

Ministry of Sound
'The Annual 2006'
Released Ministry of Sound, October 31st

Ministry of Sound are set to make dance music history on October 31st, as they shrug off those winter blues with the latest funk-soaked installment of their legendary Annual series. Incredibly they are looking set to sell their five millionth copy of the Annual, a testament to the continuing popularity of the genre-defining series.

The Annual 2006, as always, will feature 2 CDs crammed full of this year's biggest chart-topping dance anthems and pop-tinged club hits. Only the choicest dance morsels will do, with CD One featuring two of the biggest tracks of the summer in the form of Tom Novy's insanely catchy "Your Body", and the D.O.N.S chart-storming hit "Pump Up The Jam". You'll be able to transform a bedroom in Deptford to the Terraces at Space with the touch of a button, while DHT's huge "Listen to your Heart" and LRD's roof-raising "Jaques Your Body" are guaranteed to have more than just your Citroen boogieing along. Uber-cool New York producer Armand van Helden turns up the heat with his white-hot anthem 'When the Lights go Down', while Mylo adds some mad-scientist mixing by combining 'Drop The Pressure' with Miami Sound Machine's 'Dr Beat' to produce the awesome bootleg-turned-chart hit 'Dr Pressure'.

And if two CDs of triumphant house hits were not enough, the good folk at Ministry have selected twenty of the most sensational dance videos of the year, and brought them together on one DVD for your visual delectation. From the strip-poker antics of United Nations 'Out of Touch', to the casting-couch shenanigans of Max Graham's 'Owner of a Lonely Heart' (did those boys have the best job in the word?), this DVD is guaranteed to get the lads hot under the collar and the girls practicing their dance moves in front of the TV!

Ministry of Sound launched the first Annual way back in '95, featuring dance must-haves, including Livin' Joy "Dreamer", Bucketheads "Bomb" and the sensational "Hideaway" from De'Lacy. They sold over two hundred thousand copies of the compilation, and began one of the most successful runs in dance history. Since then 'The Annual' has gone on to amass sales of over four hundred and fifty thousand copies each year, bringing the total albums sold to just under 5 million. The Annual 2006 looks set to smash this figure in the coming months!

So if you want to relive some of the biggest tunes of the year or fancy giving your loved ones something more exciting than Rudolph socks in their stocking, pick up your copy of The Annual 2006, when it 's released on 31st October by Ministry Of Sound
