Middleman - Blah Blah Blah Single Review
Middleman Single Review
Blah Blah Blah
FUN! There's not enough fun in music at the moment, for anyone who likes a good dance, recently we've been missing bands that can really offer us something genuinely different, upbeat, clever & mostly, music that makes you smile! Middleman plan to rectify all our lacklustre ailments with their debut single, Blah Blah Blah, released through Leeds based label Bad Sneakers.
Funky synths, dirty bass lines, dance drum beats, snappy vocals & lyrics take us on a three minute jaunt through Middleman’s twisted musical psyche. As soon as you've heard the first chorus 'He's talking at me he's like blah blah blah blah, and I’m not listening, I’m like yeah yeah yeah yeah.' , you will be singing along, don’t worry, you won’t be alone, even Zane Lowe was recently heard singing along on his show.
Blah Blah Blah really has given me a well needed dose of fun, I recently went to watch the band at a gig & the power they produce live is incredible, it amplified the strength of the track 100 times. I truly urge you to get along to a Middleman show to witness the full effect.

Blah Blah Blah
Middleman´s first single on the Bad Sneakers label comes bouncing out of your stereo like Mike Skinner attending Grange Hill on magic mushrooms. Blah Blah Blah is a hook laden slab of danceable pop-hop that is guaranteed to get even the most hardened indie shoegazers shuffling their Converse All-Stars.
An infectious old-skool rave bassline drives the whole track along whilst wordy frontman Andy provides the witty social commentary to create something close to a modern day Madness. The goodtime philosophy is evident again on the strong b-side “When You´re In Love, a slide guitar led slice of well crafted pop and an even catchier singalong chorus. Pop without the pap, hip hop without the bling and new rave without all the dayglo nonsense. Happytimes.
