Need One

‘Need One’ is the first single to come from Martina Topley Bird’s eagerly awaited debut album, ‘Quixotic’.

Co-written and co-produced by Martina, Need One’ features Josh Homme and Mark Lanegan from US alternative rockers ‘Queens of the Stone Age’, with Josh on guitar and ex-Screaming Tree’s man Mark providing additional vocals. The result is an intoxicating brew of Martina’s evocative bluesy vocals, swirling guitars and a dynamic mix of live and programmed beats.
In the mid 90's with her then partner Tricky, Martina redefined music with the highly acclaimed Maxinquaye album followed by the Nearly God, Pre-Millennium tension and Angels With Dirty Faces lp's.

Her intensely anticipated debut album, Quixotic, arrives this summer. Emotive, enticing and challenging by turns, this multifaceted album is both personal and universal and in many ways evokes and articulates today's post-millennial blues.

Quixotic’ also features co-production credits from Tricky, David Holmes and Martina’s writing partners Nick Bird, Steve Crittal and Alex MacGowan with string arrangements from David Arnold (of James Bond and Bjork fame).

Re-mixes of ‘Need One’ come courtesy of Riton.
