Widely regarded as a broadcasting classic, the BBC radio dramatisation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings stars Ian Holm, Michael Hordern and Robert Stephens.

This timeless production, featuring new narrations from Ian Holm, has now been brought together as one boxed set. This is the perfect opportunity to hear the original cult-favourite dramatisation before the next film instalment.

After it's initial broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 8 March 1981, this magical full cast dramatisation became an instant classic and has become one of the best-selling BBC audio titles of all time. Superbly dramatised by Brian Sibley and moving through countless changes of scenery and characters, the listener is taken on a thrilling adventure through an enchanting world.

Brian Sibley's famous adaptation, starring Ian Holm and Michael Hordern, has been divided into three corresponding parts, with newly recorded beginning and end narration by Ian Holm (who plays Frodo, and also stars in the feature films as Bilbo Baggins).

The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and Return of the King and The Hobbit are also released with stunning new children's covers in October 2002 (£16.99 cassette, £24.99 CD). The dramatisations have captured the imagination of children and young adults, and these editions have been designed with the younger listener in mind.

The Lord of the Rings: The Trilogy retails at £50.00 (13 x cassette) and £80.00 (12 x CD).
