Single Review

Red Ink

Brothers Lillian, Eve, and Bosh Berlin make up three-quarters of Living Things, having left stagnant St. Louis as teenagers for the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles. They played the local scene until drumming up enough attention to sign a record deal in 2002, and released their second album "Ahead Of The Lions" in 2005, from which this single is taken.

Whether or not you like "Bom Bom Bom" will probably be decided in the first five seconds, as Living Things launch a simple but far from spectacular guitar riff on your ears. The track doesn't get going until the second chorus when a wall of distortion hits and provides much needed attitude… yet it still fails to completely satisfy, leaving it to sink into mediocrity.
