Nicola Tasler's philosophical and thought provoking assumption that the "Earth is a conductor of acoustical resonance", is substantiated John James & band who provide more than a crust of support for this proposition in their debut album. May be even the earth was merely a metaphor for people like James, whose earthly and heartwarming sounds have the ability to float around your tranquil mind? Opener '

The Forecast is a mellow mixture of energy saving instruments, providing a comfortable platform for James' laid back and charming Elliot Smith mingling with James Brown style vocals.

'Shame' tackles the subject of the pursuit of personal pleasure and the unpleasant feelings that are attached to this pursuit, with subtlety and a hint of irreverence. This North Yorkshire born songster blends together the jazz, funk and indie genres to produce a tantalizing and tasty offering. It is hard to imagine that there are eight talented and sincere musicians combining to produce this snappy and at times, dreamy offering. JJ's combination of irreverence, blues and funky instrumentals will leave you feeling a little blue, but the refreshing music and style will have the biggest impact upon you.
