All Nite (Don’t Stop) is taken from Janet’s new album ‘Damita Jo’ on Virgin Records. This single is an interesting track that has a mix of upbeat samba/dance rhythms and definite funk influence. playing quite a minimal role, and the lyrics repeat in the fashion of house music. There’s a fair bit going on in this track. Electro samples, latin percussion and some groans and breaths to give it a sexy ambience. It certainly doesn’t strike me as a typical Janet record. It seems she’s still evolving from those ‘Nasty’ days. She’s maintaining that dance-pop influence but making it slightly more cool. Not bad.
