Jamie Cullum - Release the Neptunes’ “Frontin’’ As a single on March 8th 04.

Last week Jamie Cullum was asked to perform a cover version of a contemporary song in the live lounge on Jo Whiley’s Radio One Show. Jamie chose “Frontin’” by Pharrell Williams (The Neptunes). Radio 1 got an amazing reaction from the track and the following Monday, when Pharrell and Shey appeared on the show , Jo played them Jamie’s version of their song. They loved the it so much that they talked about Jamie all through their interview, saying they just HAD to meet him, wanted to work with him and gig with him – they wouldn’t leave the studio until Radio 1 gave them a copy of the track.

At the Brits on Tuesday, the two met up, (captured on film by ITV for their Brits show). Jamie is a huge fan of the Neptune’s, he has seen them perform, loves their music and sees them as the biggest and best producers in the world. They invited him to their aftershow party where they talked and partied late into the night.

Now the track has been added to the single that will be released on March 8th, it will be a double a-sided single with “These Are The Days” plus a live version of the Radiohead classic “High And Dry” recorded at the Brecon Jazz Festival in August 03 – this track is exclusive to this release.
This will be the first single to be taken from Cullum’s double platinum selling album “Twentysomething”. (The album has now sold in excess of 600,000 in the UK). “These Are The Days” was written by Jamie’s brother Ben Cullum and produced by Stewart Levine.
Following on from his sold out UK tour in March 04, Jamie Cullum will be touring the UK again in June and July 04. This will also include a headline date at Blenheim Palace on July 1st. Support on the tour comes from singer songwriter Polly Paulusma.
