The final touches of glitter have dried on Do Me Bad Things highly anticipated debut album. Entitled ‘YES!’ and released through Must Destroy Music/Atlantic Records UK on April 11. The album was self recorded and mixed by Jack Joseph Puig.

Sometimes, very good things happen by accident. Do Me Bad Things, the astonishing blues/rock/soul/metal/everything/anything nine-piece from Croydon who have slapped countless unsuspecting, jaded audiences out of their torpor over the last twelve months, and left jaws hitting the floor everywhere they go.

It all began, legend has it, on St Valentine's Day 2003, when the nucleus of Alex Lewis, fellow songwriter Tom Shotton and Ad Mallett formed what was originally intended to be a stoner rock trio, purely for fun, to enliven the dullness of the sleepy Surrey suburbs.

The three soon realised that they were writing material demanding voices other than their own. "We had a bunch of songs, we needed singers, and we didn't want to have the same singer on every song." says Tom. By necessity and chance, rather than by any deliberate recruitment drive, the trio had to expand.

Enter Nicolai Prowse who had had been in bands with Tom when they were younger, as had Alex and guitarist Rich Aldhurst. The line-up grew further with the introduction of Chantal Brown, with whom Tom had been working in a bookshop. With the addition of singers Clare MacDonald-Haig, Mark Woods and Kimberley Whalley, Do Me Bad Things became a nonet.

The release of the singles ‘The Song Rides’ and ’Time For Deliverance’ garnered the band much attention and support from Radio One and XFM, as well as appearances on CD: UK and Popworld and having a video cropping up with alarming regularity on MTV2 and its ilk. Do Me Bad Things rounded off their year in true flamboyant style by supporting The Darkness on their UK arena jaunt.

Do Me Bad Things, are a VERY rare proposition indeed. Beating their own, thrillingly unique path to the nation’s hearts with their ‘no rules’ blend of sweet soul, hard rock, FM pop and glam metal, Do Me Bad Things seem to defy every vacant pigeon-hole and any finger that has ever attempted to pin them down.
