The 24 song set includes live renditions of all Crowded House's hits, including 'Weather With You', 'Don't Dream It's Over', 'Fall At Your Feet', 'It's Only Natural', 'Distant Sun', and 'Locked Out'. A fitting finale for an incredibly special group whose songs touched millions, 'Farewell To The World' captures the spirit of Crowded House on the most emotional night of their 11 year career.
The double DVD includes the complete concert with optional new audio commentary by Crowded House's Neil Finn and Nick Seymour. Originally released on VHS in 1997, the DVD version of the concert has been re-edited, re-graded and has digitally re-mastered sound, and also includes five tracks that were left off the VHS release. The 2nd DVD features three documentaries, including the brand new 'Looking Back' documentary with a new interview with Neil and Nick, plus a photo gallery and a complete discography. Amazingly, given their awesome live reputation, the double CD is the first ever Crowded House live album.
Originally consisting of a New Zealander, Neil Finn (vocals, guitar, keyboards), and two Australians, Paul Hester (drums) and Nick Seymour (bass), Crowded House formed in Melbourne in 1985. They first tasted global success with their massive 1987 hit 'Don't Dream It's Over' and continued to have hits for almost a decade. Crowded House produced four studio albums, the first two, 'Crowded House' (1986) and 'Temple Of Low Men' (1988) featuring just the founding trio. Neil's brother Tim joined the band for the writing and recording of the third album 'Woodface' (1991), but quit in late 1991. Tim was replaced by American multi-instrumentalist Mark Hart, who became a permanent member of Crowded House and played on their final studio album 'Together Alone' (1993), and also on the new songs which featured on 'Recurring Dream', the best of Crowded House released in 1996. Hugely successful in the UK, where 'Recurring Dream' sold over a million copies, Crowded House won the Brit for Best International Group in 1994.
