Cherie releases ‘No.1' on Jive Records. The style of music is in the same category as these young new divas on the scene such as Christina Agularia and Natasha Benningfield. She's got grit to her voice, in the pop kind of way, rather than the true soul diva. However she's young and trying, so respect to that. She's talking about how her man is not giving her the respect she deserves, so it's gonna relate to those angst ladies. There's an interesting mix of music. The drums are quite break-beaty and the vibe has a rock element with use of acoustic guitar. There's also nice use of some use of synthesiser sounds. However I don't want to mislead you making out this track is cutting edge. It is a pop track and will appeal to the younger audiences but as pop tracks go it's quite progressive.
