|Greatest Hits Video Release|
Monday December 2, Björk released an expanded and updated collection of her promo videos. Entitled Volumen the collection features each of the twenty-one videos she has made during her solo career and will be available on DVD. As this is an updated version of the compilation originally released in 1999 the seven videos she has made since then are available for a limited period on a separate DVD entitled Volumen +
Originally released in 1999, this new version of Volumen includes for the first time the incredible sci-fi, trans-gender, Kubrick-fantasy that is the Chris Cunningham-directed video for All Is Full Of Love. Also collected together for the first time are the three videos made for last years incredible album Vespertine. Directed by photographers Inez & Vonoodh and Nick Knight, and the Oscar-winning Hollywood set designer Eiko Ishioka, the videos for Hidden Place, Pagan Poetry and Cocoon continue Björks practise of collaborating with artists at the cutting edge of their field to create something special and unique.
Two other films are included which never appeared anywhere else. Its In Our Hands, the brand new track recorded for Björks Greatest Hits, is the only pop promo directed by Spike Jonz this year. A wonderland of flying fish and giant plants, this video is sure to join Jonez other works as one of the worlds favourite videos. The second new film, is fully animated using brand new software to create a brand new life-form. Nature Is Ancient is directed by newcomers Lynn Fox.
