|New Badly Drawn Boy Single Something To Talk About|
Badly Drawn Boy, aka Damon Gough, releases a new single on June 10th. 'Something To Talk About' is the second single to be taken from the soundtrack 'About A Boy' and the song is available to host in full. The single also features a brand new song written and recorded by Badly Drawn Boy earlier this year entitled 'My Name's Not Down'.
The 'About A Boy' soundtrack debuted at 6 in the charts and has already sold over 100,000 copies in the UK and spawned the hit single 'Silent Sigh', with the film going straight to the number one slot. Somehow in the middle of all this Gough has also become a father for the second time to baby Oscar.
'Something To Talk About' will be released on two CD's and 7" vinyl. CD1 features the original version of 'Something To Talk About' backes with mixes by FourTet and Misty Dixon. CD2 features, alongside the original, a new recording of 'Above You Below Me' (electric bedroom version) re-recorded with Matt Wardell and Robin File (two members of the BDB band), and the new song 'My Name's Not Down'. the 7" is backed with 'Walk In The Park' and 'Hamster Countdown'; two pieces originally intended for the 'About A Boy' soundtrack but eventually unused and therefore unreleased.
Badly Drawn Boy is currently back in Los Angeles with 'About A Boy' co-producer Tom Rothrock putting the finishing touches to his follow-up to 'The Hour Of Bewilderbeast'. All going to plan the album should be released later this year.
Mr Gough will also be embarking on a number of live dates in the coming months. He will play acoustic shows, headlining, at the special request of David Bowie, a night at the Meltdown Festival on June 26th and June 27th (Queen Elizabeth Hall) and on the main stage on Sunday at Glastonbury Festival. Gough will then be appearing with his full band at Witness, V2002 and T in The Park Festivals later in the year.
