Amy Winehouse has been voted for many awards this year proving that she certainly is a talent. There is no escaping her unique style vocally. She has a strong distinctive jazz voice and quality lyrics that surely make her a part of the top jazz lot in the UK. If you appreciate street jazz you will like this track. The beats in ‘In My Bed’ are totally hip hop. Strong break beats mixed with nice percussion sounds. Other sounds such as blasts from the horns and flute, noises from the

keys and sampled guitars make for a complicated musical arrangement. It’s sharp but lazy and jazzy at the same time. That’s probably due to Amy who is cool, sassy and strong. Her laid back style makes the track engrossing and sexy, while the beats trip along to get you moving.

‘ You Sent Me Flying’ is more smoky table jazz. There’s still funky drumming and breaks but it’s more focused on the voice and piano. A good one to make the tea to, talk intimately to you partner, or a last one to play at the ball. . Amy shows her wide vocal range in this track and delivers powerfully to make it heart warming. It could border on cheese if you’re not into jazz though.
