Watch the video for Adam Green's new single, Morning After Midnight released through Rough Trade Records on March 3rd 2008, The single's taken from Adam's forthcoming album 'Sixes & Sevens'.
Morning After Midnight is an essential blast of horn driven boogie featuring truly magical backing, including a choir of gospel singers Adam recruited himself from a church in Brooklyn. The talents of world-class string arranger David Campbell were also enlisted; Campbell played viola on Marvin Gaye's 'Let's Get It On.'
Adam's new album Sixes & Sevens released on March 10th, ranges stylistically from hip-swinging, sassy grooves to soft-to-the-core lovesongs. His fifth solo album, it beams with warmth and welcome - consider it a call to dance, drive, or just down tools. "We had so much fun making the record, so it is kind of inviting," says Green. "I wanted to make an album that you could put in a car and drive across country to."
Adam's new material takes influence from a variety of sources.Nashville honky-tonk, Bagels, Don Cherry, a gospel choir, Bonnie & Clyde, Sly & The Family Stone, Exile On Main Street, Dr. John, Chinese food, Los Angeles/Palm Trees and more. It's the sound of someone taking in the things around him that he loves and letting them inspire him.
