Ozzy Osbourne has been given his own day in Hollywood.
The rocker opened the Sunset Strip Music Festival in West Hollywood with a tribute show on Thursday (10Sep09) and was joined by Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Billy Morrison of The Cult and Billy Idol's longtime guitarist Steve Stevens.
City of West Hollywood officials honoured Ozzy by declaring 10 September, 2009 Ozzy Osbourne Day.
West Hollywood Mayor John Heilman says, "Ozzy has had a sizeable musical impact. We wanted to salute all of his contributions to the music industry."
Osbourne will close the Sunset Strip Music Festival by performing on Saturday (12Sep09). It'll be the star's first full performance on the Sunset Strip since Black Sabbath played at the Whisky A Go-Go in 1970.
