Oscar De La Renta wants his clothes to suit his customers' lifestyles.
Oscar's stepdaughter Eliza Bolen - who has worked with him for the past 15 years - said: "I think women want to look chic and elegant, but not at the expense of versatility and comfort. We know exactly what we want, and I think that Oscar understands that better than anyone.
"He designs for his customers, most of whom are professional women. We spend a lot of time talking about what the client needs from her wardrobe; what does she wear to work, in the evening, or when she travels? I think that ultimately, women want beautiful, well-made clothes that suit their lifestyle."
Although Oscar's designs are quite expensive, Eliza insists women don't need to break the bank in order to look good.
She told Britain's Hello! magazine: "Style is about wearing what you love and what you feel comfortable in.
"Fashion today exists at many different levels and price points."
