Speaking to TMZ, he said: ''We're not friends. We're family.''
The A-list couple admitted their romance ended ''amicably'' and they will continue to support each other in raising their child.
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star began dating Victoria's Secret beauty Miranda, 30, in 2007, and the couple tied the knot three years later in July 2011, before welcoming their son in January 2011.
