Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom is using his star power to help the environment - by fronting a new FRIENDS OF THE EARTH drive to raise awareness of climate change.

The Troy actor, 27, is following in the footsteps of Keanu Reeves and JAKE GYLLENHAAL - who have fronted similar American campaigns - to front the environmental organisation's British appeal.

Friend of the Earth's climate campaigner BRYONY WORTHINGTON says, "Surveys show a very low level of understanding about climate change among the general public and that's a real barrier to tackling the root causes.

"This campaign should get a whole new public on board so that we really start to make a difference."
