Ahead of the release of 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies', Lee Pace, Evangeline Lilly and Orlando Bloom discussed a bit about their characters: Thranduil, Tauriel and Legolas, respectively. In the interview, the three Mirkwood Elves discuss the process of filming the new trilogy, as well as some of their favourite moments from the production. They then answer questions about items and props that they either kept or wanted to keep, as well as what went into the rigorous stunt training for the fight scenes before the filming began.
The Lonely Mountain has been reclaimed from the dragon Smaug. The dwarves of Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) have won; although they soon discover that the price of their victory was steep. Smaug has laid waste to Lake Town, leaving the residents homeless after Thorin promised them riches. The elves of Mirkwood seek the dwarves that escaped their dungeons, while an army of orcs seek to end the line of Durin. And behind the scenes, a dark lord of shadow, long since defeated, is preparing to make a return to Middle Earth - the secret to his power lies in a small, golden ring. A ring that has chosen a new owner; The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman).
'The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies' serves as the final chapter in Academy Award winning director Peter Jackson's Middle Earth saga. The film serves as the sixth film by Jackson to be based on the works of writer J. R. R. Tolkien, and the final part of 'The Hobbit' trilogy. When Tolkien released 'The Hobbit' in 1937, it was a single book. Jackson released the final part of his adaptation of 'Lord of the Rings' in 2003, and stated that he would not work on a 'Hobbit' movie. However, he eventually signed on to direct a two part adaptation of 'The Hobbit', which later turned into a trilogy in 2012.
The film is due to be released on 12th December, 2014 in the UK, with a US release date of 17th December.

Disney star Selena Gomez was seen arriving at LAX with the 35-year-old actor.
Selena Gomez has been causing quite a stir with recent rumours surrounding her love life. And after her on-off boyfriend Justin Bieber nearly got decked by Orlando Bloom, gossip suggests she's fallen for the actor instead.
Who is Selena Gomez dating?
The starlet was seen arriving in LAX on Monday (October 21st 2014) in close proximity to her rumoured new beau, whom she has in fact been romantically linked to in the past. However, we have to say we having doubts that anything more than a friendship is going on between the two - even if we do sort of wish it would happen after the controversy surrounding Bieber and Bloom's ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
Guardians of the Galaxy star made an eventful appearance on US radio show.
Actor Chris Pratt is currently enjoying a huge wave of publicity following the runaway success of his new film Guardians of the Galaxy that’s topping box offices around the world.
But now he’s unveiled something of a latent talent for rapping during a guest spot on a talk radio show. Pratt was interviewed by DJ Whoo Kid on the show ‘Whoolywood Shuffle’ and when the discussion moved on to rap music, he professed his love for Eminem by discussing his appearances on Dr Dre’s The Chronic 2001.

Orlando Bloom may have got the first punch in, but who wants the second?
We're pretty sure that Orlando Bloom has managed to win over a good few thousand more fans after striking a fierce blow in the direction of Justin Bieber's head, but we can think of quite a few other stars who wouldn't mind a go either.
Come and have a go!
The story goes that Bieber met the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor at Cipriani restaurant in Miami where he extended a hand which Bloom did not shake. Then things start to get a bit sketchy: some sources claim he said, 'She was good' to Bloom, in reference to his alleged relationship with his ex-wife Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr, while TMZ claims Bieber shouted 'What's up, bitch?' at the actor. Either way, eyewitnesses reveal Bloom threw a good punch at the singer - to most of the audience's utter delight by the sound of things - though it still isn't clear whether or not any damage was caused.

Has Colbert been named a national treasure yet?
If there’s anything that can make the Orlando Bloom/Justin Bieber clash even mildly interesting, it’s a recap by Stephen Colbert. With his impeccable comedic timing and knack for original humour, Colbert’s recap sounds like your clueless uncle recapping the story and it’s the best thing. First of all, we should vote to appoint Colbert Official Celebrity Couple Nicknamer because he’s clearly years ahead of the rest of mainstream media in that department. Favorites include Musty Keebler, Jelustin Gobbler and Sorlena Blomez.
Petition to have Colbert name all celebrity couples from now until forever.
The spat between Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber has just been explained by Stephen Colbert, and it's absolutely hilarious.
Can't make sense of the latest fued to hit Hollywood? Well, never fear, as Stephen Colbert is here to explain the Bloom vs Bieber fight for all us onlookers. In a send-up of the most ridiculous piece of news to hit the headlines this week, Colbert satirizes the world's bizaarre obsession with celebrities airing their dirty laundry in public, as well as the absurdity of celebrities taking preference over more important current affairs.
Comedian Stephen Colbert explains the bizarre celebrity spat for us mere mortals
All sorts of crazy details have been emerging about the incident which occurred on Tuesday night in Ibiza, in a restaurant packed full of celebrities including P. Diddy and Paris Hilton. Apparently Bloom attempted to punch Bieber after he made a comment about Bloom's ex-wife, Australian model Miranda Kerr. Depending on who's report you read, Leonardo DiCaprio was cheering Bloom on, Lindsay Lohan was laughing, and Bieber left after everyone in the restaurant applauded the Lord of the Rings star for taking a swipe at him. Just another quiet evening in the world of the rich and famous then.
Eyewitnesses and grainy footage indicate that Bloom attempted to punch the singer
Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber are reported to have clashed on a night out on the island of Ibiza. Footage is alleged to show the immediate aftermath of Bloom having taken a swing at the pop star, though the video is too grainy to actually identify either of the two.
Orlando Bloom, pictured leaving Comic-Con, is alleged to have swung his fist at Bieber
Exact details are sketchy as to who actually started the incident, but according to eyewitnesses at the Cipriani restaurant on the island, Bieber squared up to Bloom before the punch was swung, at which point the singer’s entourage swiftly interjected and broke up the scuffle before it could get out of hand. Bieber then left the restaurant, and his exit drew a round of applause from onlookers. You can see it for yourself, it's currently up on TMZ.

Scroll down for a look at the sombre trailer, further for some great pictures from the upcoming movie and further still for the brand new poster!
As promised by the release of Smaug from Eribor, war has descended upon Middle Earth and threatens to strip landscape of peace, serenity and beauty. The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies finally has its first full trailer.
Martin Freeman looks on with dispair in The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies
In this trailer, a despondent Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) speaks solemnly of what he’ll remember of his incredible journey to Eribor and the consequences of his actions. "One day I'll remember. Remember everything that happened here - the good, the bad, those who survived and those that did not.”
Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf and the mini-army of dwarves led by Thorin are facing an evermore deadly path in their pursuit of the Lonely Mountain and its mound of treasure which was stolen from the dwarves some time ago by the fiercesome dragon Smaug. Their attempt to slay him has failed, instead unleashing further horrors upon themselves. Angering the dragon has only made things worse with him now determined to murder every creature that lies in its path, demolishing a neighbouring village with little more than a breath. Gandalf remains captured and tensions are ever rising between not only friends, but elves, dwarves, orcs and goblins and it's clear that the deadliest, brutalist war for thousands of years is well on its way.
All work and no play? Not for Orlando Bloom and Nina Dobrev, apparently.
Ok, so the romance at Comic-Con is definitely secondary to the first order of business, which is always nerding out. But when Orlando Bloom and Nina Dobrev are seen attending several parties together and, according to the Daily News “getting cozy” with each other, you can bet it’s going to generate headlines for at least a couple of days afterwards.
Was Orlando Bloom romancing a new lady at Comic-Con? Reports point to "yes".
So, are they or aren’t they? Well, obviously we don’t know, because as famous as they are, both Bloom and Dobrev have the right to their privacy, as well as very clever publicists, capable of manufacturing any kind of impression about their clients.
What to expect when you're expecting the Tonys 2014.
Tony’s, Tony’s, Tonyyyy’s! Cue life affirming musical montage. It’s almost TIme for the 2014 Tony Awards! Has it been that long since last year’s? Well, yes. This year’s lineup looks mega promising, so here’s a little rundown of what to expect tonght.
A decade after his first time hosting, Hugh Jackman returns to fill some big shoes.
This year’s host is Hugh Jackman and while we’ll miss NPH, that beacon of Tony excellence, as a host (don’t worry, he’s still dropping by to perform with the cast of Hedwig and the Angry Itch), Mr. Jackson’s past appearances at the awards are no less a thing to behold. Example:
A lot of loose ends need tying up in this final part of the trilogy.
We’re two films, five hours and one cliffhanger into The Hobbit film series and final installment, There And Back Again, is due out in December. This means we’re in for about eight months of speculation. The trailer isn’t even out yet, but looking back on the source material, there are a few predictions to be made about the final film. We'd put a spoiler warning here, but you know...the book has been out for almost 90 years, just saying.
This one might be less about Bilbo and more about... well, everyone else.
3. The Battle of the Five Armies. At this point in the franchise, we are yet to see Thorin get consumed by greed, which is one of the main plot points in The Hobbit. At one point, the King Under the Mountain should hole up with his gold and refuse to pay any compensation to the people of Laketown (who at this point are about to have their town torched by Smaug) or to the Wood Elves. The two armies are on their way to lay siege to the mountain, when they discover that there is an orc and warg army on the way too. Basically the culmination of the entire series.

Sex, sex & sex: Miranda Kerr talked of little else in her racy new GQ shoot.
Miranda Kerr is this months' GQ cover star and features in a racy, nearly-naked shoot alongside candid interview. The 30 year-old Australian model bares all in every possible way in front of Mario Testino's lens and to GQ's Jonathan Heaf as she speaks openly about her love life and her split from British actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she has a young son, Flynn.
Miranda Kerr Features On The Cover Of This Month's GQ Magazine.
Though Kerr doesn't state who she is currently seeing, she did reveal that she was back on the scene: "I'm dating. I'm loving it. Two happy parents are better than two unhappy parents," she says, adding "This is my time to explore and have some fun. I'm not looking to fall in love again quickly."
Remember the days when Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom walked the red carpet together? Still it seems these two exes are keeping things very amicable
They were long lauded as one of Hollywood’s most photogenic couples, but after six years together Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr’s relationship fizzled out last October. The couple, who have remained friendly are now starting to open up about their relationship and how they are working together for their son, Flynn. As they focus on their futures lets remind ourselves of one of Hollywood's most beautiful couples, who sadly just couldn't make it work.
Picture perfect, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr
Australian Victoria’s Secret model Miranda and Legolas began dating in 2007, with Kerr initially reluctant to enter into a relationship with an actor. Orlando had also just come off a high profile relationship with actress Kate Bosworth. In a 2001 Austrailian TV Interview Kerr credited Bloom’s persistence as the reason she decided to give the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star a chance, saying, ‘I was reluctant - not about him, but the idea of that (him being a movie star)... I think it was his persistence (that won me over). Maybe he wanted me because he thought he couldn't have me'. The public was long kept in the dark about the two hotties relationship though, until April the next year, when they made their first public appearance together. The pair chose a day out to the Sydney races in Miranda's native Australia to let the world in on their secret romance.
Miranda Kerr has been keeping up a poker face façade on social media following the airing of a documentary in Australia which featured interviews of her parents and grandmother. Her family claim she has neglected to see them in over a year and has not spoken to them in months.
Miranda Kerr's family may be happy revealing all on Australian television but the supermodel seems to be remaining fairly upbeat.
Miranda Kerr is allegedly estranged from her Australian family.
Kerr's family discussed their relationship with the 30-year-old on a recent documentary aired on ABC1, as the Daily Mail reports. The documentary, called Family Confidential, featured candid interviews with Kerr's parents and aired in Australia on Tuesday 11th February. Her parents, Therese and John, revealed they have not seen their daughter in over a year and haven't made contact in a number of months.
This weekend saw Smaug incinerate the competition at the box office.
As predicted, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is the clear winner of this past weekend’s box office. The second installment in Bilbo Baggins’ journey predictably came in first with $73,6 million, although it didn’t face much in the way of competition this weekend.
Martin Freeman returns as Bilbo Baggins.
Even so, the second Hobbit film saw a noticeable drop from its predecessor, which opened last year to $83,6 million, making it a 13% drop. The film is predicted around $263 domestically, but that would still put it behind An Unexpected Journey's $303 million stateside and $1 billion in worldwide earnings.
With wittier action and a few more sharply defined characters, this second episode in Peter Jackson's trilogy is more engaging than the somewhat over-packed An Unexpected Journey. Once again, the key to enjoying the film is to distance it from the beloved novel: this is a big adventure movie as opposed to Tolkien's light-hearted romp. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.
There isn't much actual plot, as we are between the set-up and conclusion, so the film consists of a series of set-pieces as Bilbo (Freeman) and his band of dwarves continue their journey to reclaim the dwarf throne in the Lonely Mountain. Gandalf (McKellen) heads off to confront the shifty, shadowy Necromancer (Cumberbatch), while Bilbo and crew head into the creepy Mirkwood, where they confront gigantic spiders before being captured by wood-elves. This is where they meet Legolas (Bloom), whose feisty sidekick Tauriel (Lilly) falls for sexy dwarf Kili (Turner) as they continue their journey to Lake-town. There they get help from Bard (Evans) as they launch their final assault on the mountain, where the dragon Smaug (also Cumberbatch) is napping on the dwarves' vast treasure.
Jackson directs with a spark of energy and humour that holds our attention even when things begin to look a little too digitally animated (basic laws of physics apparently don't apply in Middle Earth). And each sequence also provides some depth of character, especially in the overall journey of Bilbo, nicely played by Freeman as a guy who is only just discovering his own ingenuity and bravery. By contrast, McKellen's plot is much darker as he faces off against unnerving evil. As in the first film, the other strong character is Thorin (Armitage), the heir to the dwarf throne grappling with the idea of a return to power.

Just weeks after their unexpected divorce, it looks as though the pair may have already found new flames
After six years together Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr decided to go their separate ways in October, separating under amicable circumstances in a move that shocked everyone who wasn't already close to the stars. Despite only announcing their separation just over a month ago, it looks as though both Bloom and Kerr may have already moved on, with rumours surrounding their love lives running rampant at the moment.
Could Bloom be back in a relationship already?
At the beginning of the month, reports began to emerge linking Kerr with Australian billionaire James Packer, and now rumours have begun to emerge involving Orlando and his suspected love life. Bloom has been spotted around New York City with his Lord of the Rings co-star Liv Tyler, with the latest issue of Star Magazine going on to claim that the two were spotted getting very cosy with each other during a recent outing, prompting some to believe that they may be more than just friends.

The film's premiere saw the cast reunite once again, after wrapping the third and final movie.
Last night (December 3) saw the premiere for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug at Los Angeles’ Chinese Theater. While the final Hobbit film wrapped filming back in summer, the production team and cast, including Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Orlando Bloom, director Peter Jackson and many others, will still have plenty of chances to catch up at premieres and promotional events leading up to the film’s release. They clearly enjoyed doing so last night, if photos from the premiere are any indication.

Miranda Kerr was accused of using Photoshop to doctor an image she posted on Instagram, however she has laid these rumours to rest by posting the original photograph.
The use of Photoshop is one the most controversial aspects of fashion photography. Fashion magazines have long been using software to slim, smooth and tone their models. However, the tool is not usually used by models themselves, with the exception of Miranda Kerr, or so it initially seemed.
Miranda Kerr has apologised for using a manipulated image.
The Australian supermodel posted a photograph on her Instagram account from last year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Kerr did not attend the event this year, which was held on Wednesday (13th November) in New York. She posted the photograph wishing all her fellow models luck at the event. The original caption read "Sending love and best wishes to the #vsangels from Japan."

Miranda Kerr's split was over Bieber Fever?
In the most bizarre celebrity story of the week, the Sunday People allege that international supermodel Miranda Kerr split with her husband Orlando Bloom over her love for Justin Bieber. The 30-year-old's friendship with the teenage singer is said to be one of the reasons why Miranda and Orlando, 36, announced that their marriage was over.
Kerr, one of the world's most successful models, apparently spent hours with Justin at a showbiz part in New York in November 2012.
"Orlando heard that there had been some flirting going on and he wasn't exactly thrilled about it," said an insider, "Miranda had always claimed that she was a fan of Justin's music. She has taught her son how to say Bieber fever but it is supposed to have caused an issue."

The couple of six years have announced their split under "amicable" conditions.

In a statement released through E! News, a spokesperson for Bloom spoke on behalf of the two to explain the reason behind their unexpected split.

Bilbo Baggins has narrowly escaped several deadly confrontations with the likes of trolls, stone giants and countless orcs alongside his faithful wizard partner Gandalf and the hardy Dwarves of Erebor as they passed through the treacherous Misty Mountains. Their quest to retrieve the dwarves' vast pile of treasure and the land that they once called their home is at a peak as they reach the Lonely Mountain. Guarded by a colossal dragon named Smaug, the Lonely Mountain proves to be even more perilous than where they had just been and armed only with elven swords and Bilbo's Ring, they must make the ultimate defeat while fighting giant spiders and more goblins along the way. More threats face them in the form of untrustworthy elves with intelligence that far surpasses any of the travellers' put together, and their chances of survival are becoming very slim indeed.
'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' is the second instalment of 'The Hobbit' movie trilogy directed by Peter Jackson ('King Kong', 'The Lovely Bones', 'The Lord of the Rings') and based on the novel by JRR Tolkien. Screenwriters Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Guillermo del Toro make their return as do much of the previous cast alongside some new faces. It is due to be released in the UK on December 13th 2013.
'Pirates of the Caribbean' star Orlando Bloom is snapped leaving a New York theatre following his debut Broadway performance as Romeo in the opening night of 'Romeo and Juliet'. He can be seen signing programmes for the awaiting fans and even stopping to sign the odd ones he missed as he walks away.
Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad's 'Romeo and Juliet' has been heavily criticised in reviews. The production at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway has been described by critics are "overzealous" and the main actors performances lacking in chemistry.
Two actors, both alike in dignity,
On fair Broadway where we lay our scene.
We could go on but it appears Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet has already been murdered in David Leveaux's production at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Or so theatre critics would have us believe of Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad's take on one of Shakespeare's best loved plays.
Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish married at a private outdoor ceremony in Philipsburg, Montana on Saturday (31st August)
Kate Bosworth married Michael Polish on Saturday (31st August) at a ceremony in Montana. The couple have been dating since 2011. 30-year old Bosworth became engaged to 42-year-old Polish last August and Bosworth confirmed the news via Twitter in September. They became engaged whilst on holiday in South Korea, according to Us Weekly.

It seems it was love at first sight as Bosworth said, in an interview with Instyle UK, "I never even dated my husband-to-be, he said to me after just a few weeks before we were even together, 'I'm going to marry you.' He just knew'." In the same issue, Bosworth had promised that the ceremony was going to be anything but ordinary, although specific details have not, as yet, been discussed by guests. In the interview Bosworth said "I can give you one detail: it's not the norm and whisky will be involved."
Alec Baldwin has escaped prosecution after attacking a paparazzo in New York. Baldwin is not the only celebrity to lose his temper with photographers. According to sources: Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom and Kanye West are all guilty of reacting under paparazzi pressure.
Parenthood has certainly not mellowed Alec Baldwin. The 55-year-old actor was involved in a scrap with a paparazzo in New York this morning (27th August). It seems the 30 Rock star lost his temper - to make a change- with a photographer whilst he was out in New York with his wife, Hilaria.
Hilaria, the bump now known as Carmen and Alex Baldwin at a charity event in Bridgehampton, New York.
Hilaria gave birth to their daughter Carmen on 23rd August and, it appears, wanted to avoid the paparazzi by hiding in a tea shop. Baldwin has been photographed by TMZ guarding the entrance of the store and glowering at a small group of photographers. Police were present at the scene and stepped in when Baldwin attacked the photographer. It seems the photographer did retaliate so neither party will be pressing charges, according to a NYPD spokesperson.
