One Direction's Midnight Memories has been named Britain's best-selling album of 2013 just five weeks after its release.
The quintet released its third studio album in November (13), and it has already racked up almost 700,000 units - just enough to prevent Scottish singer Emeli Sande to claim a second year as the nation's bestselling albums artist with Our Version of Events.
The Next to Me hitmaker led the chart for much of the year and logged 683,000 sales. The album has now sold more than 2.07 million copies to date.
In addition to nabbing the best-selling album of the year, Midnight Memories was the fastest selling album of 2013, as well as the fastest selling album of the band's career, selling more than 237,000 copies during its first week on sale.
