One Direction made a big announcement when they appeared on the Today Show; the band will be releasing their first ever movie.

It’s scheduled for release in August 2013 and just in case you’ve not been able to catch the boys in the flesh yet, they’re making it a 3-D movie, so you can pretend to yourself that you have. During a packed performance on a Brit-themed stage at the Rockefeller Centre, Niall told the enthusiastic crowd “We are going to do our first-ever movie and it's going to be in 3-D and it's coming to cinemas near you on the 30th of August, 2013.”

As if that exciting little nugget of news wasn’t enough to keep the 1D fans hyperventilating with excitement, the boys also performed their new song ‘Live While We’re Young,’ as well as the ballad ‘Little Things,’ which was penned by songwriter Ed Sheeran. They took time out to thank everyone who made it along to the filming – especially in the wake of Superstorm Sandy which hit the East coast two weeks ago. “I think in spite of everything that happened, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone that's been affected by Hurricane Sandy and to see everyone come out still when everything's happened is absolutely amazing, it means so much to us.”

They’ve not let all their success go to their heads though; Zayn confessed that they still get nervous about releasing new material. “We were a little nervous when we first put the album for the fans,” he admitted to The Sun. “But we we've been waiting so long, we are just excited and we are happy the fans can get a physical copy now.”
