Arnold Schwarzenegger has purchased a $250,000 monster truck.
The former governor of California has been seen driving the huge vehicle - a Mercedes Benz Unimog in silver - around Santa Monica yesterday (30.08.12).
It has been specially adapted for street use by German company Mertec, as its normal use is for armies around the world.

The 65-year-old actor returns to the big screen for the first time in eight years in action blockbuster 'The Expendables 2', and although he is still in incredible physical condition he is willing to acknowledge his body doesn't quite react in the way it used in his younger years.
The former Mr. Olympia body-building champion said: ''It is tougher as you get older. Your metabolism slows down. Your muscles don't respond in exactly the same way anymore. When you do action scenes and fight scenes and run around you take longer to recuperate, but so what? It doesn't matter. It's not like we don't get paid for it.''

The mother-of-four - wearing a floor-length backless gown and her hair pulled into an elegant bun - told the star-studded audience: "I'm so sorry for crying. I'm being so rubbish. I would like to thank the British fashion industry for your support. I'd like to thank my team, you all know who you are, your focus, your creativity - Simon Fuller, my parents, my kids and my husband. Without David I wouldn't have had the courage to do what I am doing."

Arnold Schwarzenegger has ordered an eight foot tall bronze statue of himself.
The actor has personally commissioned at least three "heroic" scale bronze statues which depict him in his body building prime.
The statues are all modelled on a smaller sculpture created in 1980, the year Arnold won his seventh Mr Olympia title, and cost around £100,000 each.

The former Oasis guitarist's first ever three shows with his new project - in Dublin, Edinburgh and London - went on sale at nine am this morning (05.08.11), and sold out almost immediately.
The shows sold out even quicker than those of rival band Beady Eye - formed by Noel's brother Liam and the other members of Oasis at the time of their split in 2009 - when they announced their debut six shows in November last year. Beady Eye tickets did, however, sell out completely in under half an hour.

The 'Slave to Love' hitmaker was taken sick before appearing at London's O2 Arena last night (05.04.11), and rushed to hospital for "precautionary" tests.

The 64-year-old singer-and-actress - who shot to fame after being discovered by Rolling Stones singer Sir Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards in 1964 - received the Commandeur of L'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Commander of the Arts and Letters) from French Minister of Culture and Communication Frederic Mitterrand yesterday (22.03.11).
Marianne - who currently divides her time between Paris and Ireland - accepted the accolade for contributing to the enrichment of the French cultural inheritance at Paris' Le Theatre du Chatelet, where she was performing in concert.
