Olivia Palermo takes style inspiration from Anna Karina.

The model-and-socialite is a fan of ''old fashion imagery'' and researches photos of the Danish/French actress-and-model - now aged 74 - for new ideas on to dress and make-up looks.

She shared: ''I like to look at old fashion imagery of models such as Anna Karina for inspiration for my style. But it's not about your make-up or the clothes you wear. It's health on the inside that shines through.''

Olivia, 29, says fashion and beauty inspires every aspect of her life and she has learned that the key point to start from to look good is to have great skin that is well cared for.

Speaking to Stella magazine, she said: ''Fashion and beauty give me endless inspiration. My appreciation started through my mother at a young age. My ethos is that you need to take care of your skin so you feel and looked nourished. The best compliment you can receive is that you look well rested.''

But the former 'The City' star is adamant make-up shouldn't be used as a ''mask'' but should be used to bring out the best of you as a person.

Olivia - who attended the Chloe catwalk event as part of Paris Fashion Week on Sunday (08.03.15) - explained: ''Beauty can transform you, but it should be about having fun and feeling confident. Make-up and hairstyles shouldn't mask who you are but bring out the best of who you are.''
