The Russian singer - who split from the 'Edge of Darkness' actor earlier this year amid allegations he assaulted her during their relationship - has confessed she was left terrified during one particular argument when the Hollywood star flew into a rage.
Speaking to People magazine in an interview to be published on Friday (08.10.10), she said: "I was scared for my life."
The incident - which is reported to have taken place on January 6 - has now become famous after audio recordings Oksana made were leaked to a celebrity news website but she has denied releasing the tapes, saying: "I needed to document his threats."
People Deputy Managing Editor Peter Castro recounted Oksana's version of the incident, saying Mel was "frothing at the mouth, contorting his face and as she tried to leave. She alleges he punched her twice - once in the head, once in the mouth - and pulled a gun and started waving it."
However, Oksana - who is currently involved in a bitter custody battle with Mel for their 11-month-old daughter Lucia - insists she has no ill feelings towards the 54-year-old actor.
The 40-year-old beauty said: "I'm not angry at him. For the sake of Lucia, I really want him to be well. He has to have the courage to be responsible for what he's done."
Peter Castro added: "She's very Christian and she believes in forgiveness. I think her thinking is I'd better make the best of this situation. He is, after all, the father of that child."
