The 42-year-old actress dressed to impress on the red carpet for the premiere of her new film 'Fruitvale Station' last night (16.05.13) and admits the designer helped her pick out the perfect dress to boost her confidence for the star-studded occasion in the South of France.
Speaking to People magazine, she said: ''Tadashi is a magician - I feel completely transformed tonight.
''Each dress I wear of his feels like the first time all over again. This red number makes me feel confident and sexy.''
'The Help' actress had several dresses to opt for from Tadashi's collection, but went for the 'Carmine Red' gown with sequin embellishment in the end because she knows what works for her figure.
Tadashi explained: ''We almost always collaborate on her custom pieces. Octavia has a great sense of style and knows what looks good on her body so it's easy. It's appropriate for Cannes and something we haven't done before.
''She [looks] stunning in a confection of lace and tulle. I am excited and honoured to see my friend in my dress on the Cannes red carpet.''
