Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher was stunned to be beaten by Irish pop stars Westlife to the number one spot in the UK album charts yesterday (26NOV06). Last month (OCT06), Gallagher's brother and bandmate Liam voiced his confidence their greatest hits disc STOP THE CLOCKS would rule the charts. However, the boy band's latest release THE LOVE ALBUM went straight in at number one, leaving Oasis at two. During his performance last night (26NOV06) at London's Union Chapel, angry Gallagher ranted, "Did someone say Westlife? That goes to prove there is no God." After realising he had voiced a blasphemic opinion in a Christian church, Gallagher added, "You may strike me down if you wish, but it's true."
