The North Country actress, who won the same award in 2004 for her star turn in MONSTER, is convinced she won't repeat the feat and would like to see WALK THE LINE star Witherspoon or TRANSAMERICA's Huffman receive the honour.

She says, "I love Reese and it's definitely her year. It feels like Felicity Huffman's year too. I think it's between those two.

Charlize Theron has ended speculation she is set to wed her longterm love Stuart Townsend, insisting they will never marry.

The North Country actress, 30, is deeply in love with the 33-year-old Irishman, but doesn't believe they need a marriage certificate to cement their relationship.

And she insists she has enough designer dresses to satisfy her urge for a bridal gown.

British actor Sean Bean has turned his back on North Country co-star Charlize Theron by announcing he will be rooting for her English rivals at the Oscars.

Bean is delighted Theron has been nominated in the Best Actress category - but he will be cheering on DAME Judi Dench and Keira Knightley at the Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on 5 March (06).

He says, "Charlize is magnificent. But I have split loyalties when it comes to whether she should win the Oscar.

The MONSTER star, who has been nominated for her performance as struggling single mother and harassed mineworker Josey Aimes in North Country, doesn't believe her performance matches those of category rivals DAME Judi Dench and Reese Witherspoon.

British actress DAME Judi Dench is delighted by her Best Actress Oscar nomination for her performance in MRS HENDERSON PRESENTS, because she thoroughly enjoyed filming the saucy movie.

The 71-year-old won the 1999 Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her portrayal of QUEEN ELIZABETH in hit movie SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE - and she would love to add the Best Actress statuette to her collection.

She says, "It's absolutely wonderful! I'm absolutely thrilled! I'm so happy to be nominated for something I loved filming every single day."

Brokeback Mountain is set to fight CAPOTE, CRASH, Munich and GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK in the Best Motion Picture category.

Australian Ledger is up against Philip Seymour Hoffman in Capote, Terrence Howard in HUSTLE + FLOW, Joaquin Phoenix in Walk the Line and David Strathairn in Good Night, And Good Luck for the Actor In A Leading Role Oscar.

Theron's North Country Funded By Ebay

Oscar winner Charlize Theron is singing the praises of former eBay president Jeff Skoll after revealing he put up the cash to make her latest film North Country.

The businessman, who is worth an estimated $3.5 billion (GBP1.95 billion), left eBay to create Participant Productions and make socially-conscious films.

In addition to North Country, the company has also funded George Clooney's GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK and documentary MURDERBALL.

Gay cowboy movie Brokeback Mountain has made the biggest impression on the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award nominations, its stars picking up four acting nods ahead of the ceremony later this month (JAN06).

The movie is nominated in the Best Cast in a film category, Heath Ledger as Best Actor and Jake Gyllenhaal as Best Supporting Actor. Their co-star Michelle Williams is also nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category.

Ledger will have to compete with CINDERELLA MAN star Russell Crowe for the Best Actor prize; as well as Philip Seymour Hoffman, nominated for CAPOTE; Joaquin Phoenix for Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line; and David Strathairn, for GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK.
