Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' three date debut tour has sold out in six minutes.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' debut tour has sold out in six minutes.
The former Oasis guitarist's first ever three shows with his new project - in Dublin, Edinburgh and London - went on sale at nine am this morning (05.08.11), and sold out almost immediately.
The shows sold out even quicker than those of rival band Beady Eye - formed by Noel's brother Liam and the other members of Oasis at the time of their split in 2009 - when they announced their debut six shows in November last year. Beady Eye tickets did, however, sell out completely in under half an hour.
Fans were ecstatic to secure tickets for the 'The Death of You and Me' hitmaker's first shows, with Mark Rae tweeting: "Had almost given up on getting Noel Gallagher tickets until I tried the Usher Hall's own website. Two tickets in the bag. Sweet."
However some unlucky fans were upset after tickets almost immediately appeared on auction site eBay, with asking prices of up to £250 each.
Noel admitted he is a little nervous about being the frontman of a group for the first time in his twenty year career.
He said: "I've got to start again from scratch. I'm not a frontman, now I have to be the guy up The Front giving it all the jazz hands.
"I've been in a band with a great frontman, and I was a great guitarist and backing vocalist who chirped in with the odd funny quip. It was perfect. This is just a major pain in the b******s. But I'm getting used to the idea."
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds tour dates:
October 23 Dublin, Olympia Theatre
October 27 Edinburgh, Usher Hall
October 29 London, HMV Hammersmith Apollo
