Noel Gallagher has confessed he dreamed up the idea of joining his former arch-enemies Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon onstage at a charity gig on Saturday (23Mar13).

The former Oasis star put his long-running feud with the pair behind him to take to the stage alongside them for a performance of Blur hit Tender at a charity show in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The headline-grabbing moment ended 18 years of deadly rivalry between Gallagher and the Blur rockers, and the Wonderwall hitmaker has now revealed the link-up was his idea.

He tells NME magazine, "I suggested it. I was at the BRITs and I said to Damon, 'What do you reckon?' I can't remember what his response was because we were both p**sed (drunk), but it must have been positive. I think it's great for music fans. It's like, when you hear about John Lennon playing with Eric Clapton or... well, I don't know what the equivalent is.

"It won't be changing anybody's life but people could say they were there... I suggested we do Tender for various reasons. It's a f**king great song. It's a piece of p**s (easy) to play on guitar. It's got four chords in it. And more importantly, the crowd loves it."
