Rocker Noel Gallagher has laid into young musicians who do not write their own songs, insisting they should be prepared to work hard for success.

The former Oasis star claims he has been asked to work on music for up-and-coming singers several times but has refused as he is adamant they should pen their own tunes.

He tells Britain's ShortList magazine, "I must have been asked to write songs for people about 20 times. (They say) 'Hey man, we should write some songs together'. F**king write your own songs. I spent 46 years busting my a**e to get here, slaving over a line in a song for a month. So no, I won't write a song with you."
