The Bling Ring Trailer

A group of teenagers become bored of their everyday lives while everyone around them enjoys their glitzy lifestyles in LA. In an attempt to become like the celebrities they idolise, they track down their glamorous houses online and plan robberies while working out when they are away for premieres and award ceremonies and such. Discovering a world of designer clothing, expensive jewellery, Rolex watches and wads of cash lying around becomes more than a temptation and the teenagers embark on an addictive routine raid of several celebrity homes with victims among the likes of Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom and Lindsay Lohan. At first they appear to be getting away with their exploits, but it isn't long before they are found out and arrested and they learn that they must face up to the consequences of their crimes.

Bling Ring - Teaser Trailer

Fame and fortune are attractive prospects for most people, but to one group of teenagers living in LA, it has become an obsession. Using the internet to track the whereabouts of the most stylish Hollywood icons, the adolescent crime group known as the Bling Ring repeatedly raid their homes while they're away helping themselves to everything from Rolex watches, jewellery, expensive designer clothes and wads of cash. The Haunting Of Molly Hartley Review

Bad
Molly Hartley is a troubled teen -- misunderstood, depressed, haunted. School sucks, and her psychotic mother has just been locked up after stabbing Molly in the chest. If that's not enough, and it's not (for a good movie at least), Molly learns from her mother that her soul is lost, and she will join Satan's army when she turns 18. Is she crazy? And if not, why does she keep hearing voices?

In spite of its retro title and touches, The Haunting of Molly Hartley is a typical horror film -- occasionally unpleasant, intermittently scary, set in a Bible-obsessed American town where no one is as normal as they seem. There's nothing wrong with this premise; evangelicals believe lots of crazy things. But everything in this movie is predictable, from the slow episodic pace to the creepily derivative music, and you've seen it all before.

Suicide Kings Review

Good
So-so thriller about a bunch of guys who kidnap a mob boss in order to guarantee the return of one of their sisters. Or something like that. Dumb premise. Mediocre execution.

Tucker: The Man And His Dream Review

Excellent
Francis Ford Coppola's labor of love... about Preston Tucker's labor of love. Jeff Bridges stars as the charismatic man who tried to take on Detroit (and lost badly) by making his own line of safe, fast, stylish, and efficient automobiles in the 1940s. Detroit retaliated, landing Tucker in a fraud lawsuit, and this is his story. Tucker: The Man and His Dream is shot with Coppola's signature stylishness, aided by fine performances from Bridges, Joan Allen, and Martin Landau. A few impatient ones may get bored with the attention to detail that Coppola has infused in his film, but Bridges' riviting performance should keep the rest of you glued to your set and longing for one of his rocketship cars.

Jakob The Liar Review

OK

In considering whether or not to see "Jakob the Liar," the question you have to ask yourself is this: Just how much sappy, Robin Williams sentimentality can I stand?

If your tolerance is low (did "Patch Adams" give you hives?), you'd best skip this one -- an insistently uplifting fable of a Jew in Nazi-occupied Poland who keeps the spirits up in his prison-like Jewish ghetto by making up news broadcasts about the course of the war.

One of those rare films in which Williams really acts (as opposed to playing a variation on himself), "Jakob" isn't a bad film, but it still has "please take me seriously" written all over it.
