MOTLEY CRUE star Nikki Sixx has rubbished reports the heavy metal outfit are plotting a massive 2005 comeback tour, insisting it's been six years since they've even communicated as a band.

A series of internet postings hinted the raucous group had already booked venues across the globe and that bassist Sixx, singer Vince Neil, guitarist Mick Mars and drummer Tommy Lee were all on board to follow-up 1997's GENERATION SWINE tour.

However, Sixx has devastated fans by announcing the band are definitely not re-grouping - and probably never will.

He says, "It's nice to hear that fans, bands, promoters and agents would like to see a Motley Crue tour. But right now I know Vince is booking tons of live shows, Tommy is busy promoting a book and doing his reality show, and Mick is in rehabilitation after (hip replacement) surgery.

"It takes four guys to do it. All I know is all four of us haven't been in the same room in six years. In the world of Motley, I'd say, 'Don't hold your breath.'"
