Actress Nicole Kidman is expecting a child with her country singer husband Keith Urban, it has been confirmed.
A statement from her publicist said the glamorous couple were "thrilled".
Reports claiming the Oscar-winner was pregnant first emerged in April only for her publicist Wendy Day to swiftly deny tabloid claims.
"As if she would confirm a pregnancy to [the] News of the World," Day told the AFP news agency at the time.
But as Kidman's promotional tour for latest film The Golden Compass began in late November, rumours that she was with child surfaced again, with her exercise regime said to be noticeably less intensive than usual.
And Day has now confirmed that Kidman, 40, and Urban - who married in 2006 - are soon to be parents.
"Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban confirmed today that they are expecting a baby," she said. "The couple are thrilled."
The Cold Mountain star adopted two children with ex-husband Tom Cruise but disclosed last year that she had suffered two miscarriages during their ten-year relationship.
Kidman recently completed production on Baz Luhrmann's Australia, reuniting with director for the first time since 2002's Moulin Rouge! for which they both received Oscar nominations.
